    Arowana Pond

I was wanting to build an indoor pond for my arowana. The dimensions are 7' long by 4' wide. I was wanting to build it like the picture below. I will have a liner,a 2x4 band around the top, and have plywood screwed to the bottom as well. I was worried about it bowing but it will only be a little less than 18" tall. Does anyone have see any problems with this design? Thank you for your input.

It's a little shallow (& narrow for full size aros). Since it won't get filled to the top.

I'd brace the corners with either wood or metal cleats.

But otherwise your good to go.

How are you plumbing the pond.

I was either going to turn my old 55 gal into a wet dry or just pump water up into a bin above the pond and drain back into the pond.

Would this design be better than a 300 gal Rubbermaid stock tank? That would require much less work on my part.

Honestly, I'd go with the stock tank, aros stay towards the top and that's it's widest part. Just make a screen tent style cover it so they can practice jumping.
