I am trying to decide what is the best lighting for my 65 gal tank. Right now I am running 2 65 watt pc but am thinking about going to MH lighting. What I want to know is what should I get 150 watt or 250 watt one bulb or two bulbs I dont want to get a bad algea bloom and I don't want the tank to get to hot. Please help.

i'd say two bulbs... but yeah the dimensions of your tank will help, and what kind of inverts you are keeping/plan to keep.

that tank im guessing is 36*18*24 tall. Same as mine. What i would do is 2x150watt MH at 10000K and get 1 36inch T-5HO actinic bulb. Thats just me though. lol.

If you want the same amount of growth power why not just get a VHO retro kit and DIY something in the hood. I cant keep praising T-5's enough, and you get no heat issue. They run cooler then the PC's and put out 35% more PAR. Whats not to love. And you save money becuase they run more efficiently then MH's do.
