1.will this flow more gph if i cut off this 90 that is pvc glued on then add a screw on 90 and run pvc instead of hose?
2.will it have a better chance of leaking with a thread on fitting?
3.will it slow the flow to leave the cut off piece of 90 inside the bulk?

4.and my return is the same,
its ok like this right?

thanks in advance :)

That is where the water flows out? Having thicker hose or pipe or whatever should increase the flow, until it gets larger than the bulkhead, after which you could have a 5 foot wide hose and it wouldn't make a difference. Like the other guy said, the actual drilled part is the limiting factor.

I am assuming this is a true overflow and not a siphon, correct? If so, I would try intalling a pvc "T" fitting to creating a vent. This will allow air to escape instead of being drug deeper into the tube where it will add to decreasing the flow.

Any modifcations may be to small for you to notice any difference though.

right now its smaller so this is a good idea

ya a true overflow
good idea on t
not sure if they have one,odd size for the bulk,1 1/4
i dont think its flowing enough to even trap air tho lol
its bad,the water is above the bulk, and barely any water flowin in the tube
im pretty sure its cus the black 90 downsizes twice before it goes in the tube

im just hoping this pvc connector i bought at lowes threads onto the bulk good
cus once i cut this black 90 off thats it :irked:

a rounded 90 will flow with less restriction than the 90 you have now but i think you would be better off adding a second intake to the tank .
