Got a badly abused Sen the other day. Fins and tail tore up. Nares missing. Scars on his head. Still a baby though about 6 inches.

My Q's: Do those nares grow back?? If so how long does it take?

Also, will his long fins grow back?

nares: sometimes yes, sometimes no. the longer you don't see regrowth, the less chance they'll grow back. once you see regrowth, it can also take quite a long time (like on the order of months) for them to fully regrow.

fins: most of the time they will. not always though. depends on the extent of the damage. sometimes they may grow back crooked or something if the damage area is large...

Saw him a Spokane Petstore, called Northwest Seed & Pet.

They told me, that they got it him about 8 weeks ago, in way worse shape that it is now. They also told me he keeps trying to escape. (Their reason for his missing nares).

I've seen no proof of this(Got bricks on top of tank anyhow).
He goes up for air very slowly and gently.

He is very happy in my tank with my other 2 Sens and my Delhz, and VERY hand tame!! :grinno:

Right now he is sitting on top of one of the caves full of silverside. Man that little bugger can eat!!

clean water and salt and 2 to 3 weeks will do the trick.
