I want to get this aquarium setup link here:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3730+9017+3857&pcatid=3857
It says "The hinged lid houses the patented BIO-Wheel® wet/dry filtration system certified at 150 gallons per hour"
Is this to much water movement for a Betta in a 6 gallon tank?

I really like good water filtration, I don't want stale stinky water.

What about this heater:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3743+12087&pcatid=12087
it says "up to 4°F in 5 gallons" well this aquarium is 6 gallons, will this still work good enough to keep the temp around 78*f
all the tanks in my house stay at 74*f to 78*f in summer time.

I'm thinking at no matter what temp the water is the temp is going to be raised 3*f to 4*f no matter what temp the water is at, is this correct?

This Substrate:
Black Sand Flourite

The tank will have 1 special fancy Betta, not a $3.00 betta that you find in every pet store.

1 Java fern or some type of low light plant

Maybe 1 tiny Water Frog

1 or 2 Ghost Shrimp

Will this setup be ok for what I want to put in the tank?

I really wanted this Heater:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3743+18445&pcatid=18445
but I don't think it will work since it's only rated for a 3 gallon tank?

(This is my wife's first fish tank)
But it has to be cool enough for me since I have to look at it :D

That setup will be just fine for a betta. I have one of those tanks that I've used for various things over the years, but I just use a standard 25W heater.

I own an eclipse six and twelve. The six water flow is a bit much for a betta with any kind of extreme finnage. If you want to slow it down a bit, take a black knee high stocking and put it over the filter intake. Or you can take a powerhead sponge and place it over the intake on the filter as well. It will slow down the intake on the filter, in essence, slowing down the output of water at the same time. I rather the sponge, but it really doesn't matter as long as you rubberband the stocking on top. I've had this system for 6 years and never had a problem with it. I've also ran it saltwater and it works great that way too. I would just get a regular 25 watt heater for the tank, stealth makes a great one that I think fostersmith carries.......

This would work fine. You can also adjust the temp to whatever you want. I've never had a problem with these heaters, and they stand up to my oscars.

Should be good, you might want to choke the output a little bit by doing what K626 said. Or if you got some plants and stuck them in front of the filter.

ok thanks.
Not sure what I will get, but something low light that will fill up the tank nicely.
