I recently acquired a used Magnum 350 canister filter and figured I'd use it for a little extra filtration & circulation on my 180 gal oscar tank...
I had to buy a new carbon container as the orignal was pretty beat up, but other than that the filter seemed to be in perfect working order. Took it apart, cleaned it thoroughly, put it back togethr according to directions... Upon filling and starting it up, it spit a good amount of carbon INTO my tank (the tank is barebottom, so I just netted out the stray carbon). It's been running for about two weeks now and while it hasn't coughed up a huge amount of media again, I do tend to find more stray carbon every now and then about the the tank.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
