can you vent oscars ?

Hi, i never tried to vent my oscars years ago as i didnt breed any fish, now i have been successful breeding several species of african cichlids and was curious if you can vent a oscar to tell male from female. Thanks

Thanks, i just saw some diagrams and im glad i looked at them. I had thought a fish was female cause of the fact that the larger heavier red oscar was dominating it but now i believe thats the male. It displays a short pointy tip of tube while just swimming around and it points toward the tail area at a slight angle. Male i think.
