I'm looking to build a pond somewhere around 1,000 -5,000 Gallons. Here are a few problems I'm having, maybe some of you all could help me out.

I have two dogs so I'm not 100% sure if I want to go with a liner or a concrete pond. If I go with a concrete pond how long so I have to allow it to cure before it's safe to fill with water and add fish (I know I have to get it to cycle first).

If I go with a liner pond would it look nice if I put some type of chicken wire on top of it to keep my dogs out of the pond?

If the dogs drink the pond water is it going to hurt them?

Last but not least I would love to be able to heat the pond in order to have a RTC in the pond. how must would it cost me in order to keep the temp up for a RTC electric wise (I'm thinking to much) so it might be a KOI pond.

Chicken wire... no. To many sharp edges and points, not attractive.

Water is OK for dogs, but training them to stay away from the pond will leave all parties involved happy.

1 - 5K gal. is a large diff. in price for concrete or liner.

Heating could be pricey.
