I have a tank that's been running for 2-3 years and never really had problems with my water parameters. I've been reading a lot on whether or not to have chem media in my filters and decided to toss out the carbon/other stuff for more bio media. Now my water is a little bit cloudy and the ammonia raised to about .25 or .5. My pH is dropping but I think it's because of the driftwood I put in 2 weeks ago. Could the cloudiness/ammonia be due to the new bio media? (ie. new bacteria growing mimicing cycling of a new tank?)

Filters = 2x emperor 400, 1 fluval 403, 1 fluval 404

The fluval 403 was untouched and only contained bio media (2yrs).
The fluval 404 was completely changed to all bio media.
The emperor 400s were also freshly stocked with bio media behind the new carbon/mech filter pads.

125g
pH - 6.5 as of now
ammonia - .25/.5
nitrite - 0
nitrate - ~20 and below

water changes at least every week at about 35%
