Thanks for the advice guys. However, my setup is a little inconvenient. I have the tank back-to-back with a window that is all blocked off with thick styrofoam and a window fan. There is just enough space underneath the window fan to slip a 5/8" tube leading to the outside garden. So, I'm looking for something I could switch on and off. I have a hand pump, but it's still a cumbersome procedure.

a good power vac will set you back $200Yeah, I'm considering getting the Eheim just for daily poop and debris clean up. I don't mind grabbing an expensive pump as long as it is durable and does the job right.Kobeclone;1988453; said:Then why have I seen an Eheim sludge extractor for $29.99
Also, most of the electric pumps I've seen have a filtration system so that you can pump the same water right back if you choose. I'm not looking for that at all. I just want something the pump the water out. I can just run the garden hose into my window to fill it back up. Thanks anyway everyone. I'll just keep looking til I find what I want.
well python is min 25' and gardon hose is usually standard @ 50'.... you can add clear vinyl tubing to you python from HD or lowes its cheap....
