I made a Durso pipe and im wondering if on the top of the pipe were you drill the hole what size makes the water enter the pipe faster. Bigger hole or smalle hole. Right now i have a 3/16 hole and every few days i have to add water to the sump because the water level drops. almost like the pump is pumping to much water and the durso pipe isnt allowing enouh water in fast enough. Help

your water is evaporating, its not the durso. the small hole just "tunes" the overflow to reduce noise.
That's what I was going to say.

there is no way that it is evaporating the water. i filled it 2" over the water level sticker at 11am and now at 11pm its down 2". so its pumping the water out to fast and not enough comeing in.

if the water level in the tank is staying the same and the water level in the sump is dropping, then you are either experiencing evaporation or you have a leak somewhere.

if the pump is overpowering your overflow, which would be indicated by tank water level rising and sump getting lower, then you either need a smaller pump or you need to reduce flow or divert some of the pumps output back to the sump.

It's just evaporation. If your pump was too powerful, your tank would flood and your sump would run dry. If your overflow was too powerful, your sump would flood and the water level in your tank would drop below the overflows.

I lose about 2 gallons a day to evaporation out of 240 in the system. Two gallons of water out of my sump brings the water down about 4". Sound familiar?;)
