I am looking at a 150gal tank 48x31x24 would this make a good tank for Central American Cichlid's (1 of each, jack dempsey, cuban, FH). These are in a grow out tank right now and all seems fine (55gal). Or should I look for something longer?

I would look at the 150 long for that type of tank (72x18x29).

although not as wide, the extra 2 feet of length may help when you have two nasty fish that want to be far apart :)
agree but maybe look into the 150 thats 5x2x2

The guy wants 150.00 (i'm going to offer 120.00) is the only reason I'm looking at this tank. Price is right.

true. that would be ideal. but in my area, a 5x2x2 tank has to be custom done..

150's in my area are the standard Aqueon/All-glass or Perfecto ones, not available in that configuration..
one of those company's makes that tank... i saw it in a lfs....

It's in my brothers garage. The tank was 2 1/2 hrs. away so I took the wifes car to look at it. I will go back next week in my truck to pick it up. I've went to look at too many tanks that were not what they said they were.
