subtrate options

im picking up a new tank tomorrow
but im having a super hard time deciding what kind of subtrate i want for it any suggestions would really help. the tank has a black backgroud and i have some driftwood im gona put in it. im open to any suggestions gravel or sand it doesnt matter just no crazy colors going for a natural look. some pics would help too.

what brand? only thing that holds me back from getting light colored subtrate is that it makes my rbps lighter and i like the dark look better but i like that sand because its not too light

don't know the brand, but you can use black sand also, but i think it's alittle pricey.

yea im broke now after buying this tank so i dont have a lot to spend :cry:, how many pouds of sand do i need for a 150?

Look into sand from your pool supplier. It will have a larger grain than play sand and won't be as easily drawn into your filter.

Last I bought was $10 a bag at 50 lbs.

I've had pool filter sand, black tahitian moon sand, and black 3m colorquartz sand and I like the pool filter sand the best. The black sands make the fish scrap stand out like a sore thumb so unless you want to clean the bottom every day I would go with pool filter sand. Also, I like the contrast to the black back of my tank. With black sand it was TOO black.
