Ok my question is what kind of Sand can I buy that is alittle bit dark but not too dark and thats not light. I don't want playsand as its too light (neutral). I want to get my fishes colors much darker than usual. But I don't want to spend alot of money for bag of sand...Anyone know of a brand? Oh and it has to be fine or coarse...just a good a round kind of sand that won't harm my Stingray :nilly: and I need to know where I can buy them...Thanks :)

check out estes marine sand, i have heard a few people say they use it for there rays and i just picked some up for my ray tank.
as for its weight it is not so light that any little movement will cloud the water, i find it settles pretty quickly when disturbed. i picked mine up from bigal's aquarium supplies.

hope this helps.

yes this is for my freshwater ray as well,
it is just called marine sand (not sure why), it does not affect PH in any way.
i put mine in my 150gal, though i could only find it in 5lb bags lol. took 7 bags for 1/2inch coverage, hah

Marinedepot.com has some stuff called torpedo sand for 9.99 per 20 lbs. bag, I think. It's of a decent graded size and is naturally smoothed and rounded by the oceans current, safe for fresh water. Dullish grey in color - good for ray tanks.
