I recently moved some tanks into the basement. For water changes i want to avoid the bucket method, as well as wasting water with the python. I figured some sort of pump hooked up to some tubing or pvc will work...it needs to push up about 3 feet to go out the basement window.
I'm looking for suggestions on pumps, would something like this work?
Its a pond pump claiming to be able to pump up to 4 feet.

Thanks for any input

If you're not too concerned with time, you can just turn the water on to start the siphon with the python. After that you can turn the water off and let gravity do the work. (assuming the water source is lower than the tank)

Unfortunatley the only available sink is one floor up:irked:

Is there a sump pump in the basement? If so, you might want to consider a drip system or just using the sump pump to get rid of tank water.

Little Giant makes ton's of good pumps.

PES-800-PW can be found for like 60 bucks can lift 11' at 250GPH 3' should be closer to 800GPH.

PEW-1000-PW is a little big can be found for about 80 bucks and can push 1000GPH at 5'
