mix the amount of water in a clean plastic garbage can use proper water conditioners and and salt mix to it. use a hydrometer to find the specific graity and salinity in the tank than match that to the water u are mixing in the can. use a heater and power head to heat and mix the water overnight. than the next day siphon out the water like a fw tank and repalace the water w/ the new mixed water. just check the sg and salinity in the new water prior to using because it can chang efrom the day before. i hope that helps. :grinno:

Check your local fish store here in Miami they sell natural saltwater for 50 cent a gallon. that will save you the hassle of mixing the water. and natural saltwater is always better than the mix....

Whats even better to do is that you can just siphon the water out and while you are mixing and all that fun crap you can let the filters oxidate the water left in there which really helps bottom dwellers, because if you let the filters do that for a good two or three hours it really brings their colors out. and thats plenty of time to mix and get proper temp.
