If I were to buy like 2 dozen mealworms and store them in a container in my room, how long do I have till they turn to beetles? Im gonna buy some but its gonna be fed to my fish like 1/2 times a week. So would I be good like 2-3 weeks maybe?

I remembered doing a experiment on them in biology class, and it took around a month for them to turn into a full beetle. So I think you would be pretty good.

P.S I think the mealworms they gave us were a bit older already, and most of the time they were in the metamorphic stage.

2-3 weeks is good. Just keep them in a cool room, their really slow growing when their warm. Plus you can feed the pupas to your fish too.

Stick 'em in the fridge. Then it takes them a LONG time

I wondered about that...

I used to keep frozen pinks in the back of the freezer for my geckos. My mom wasn't happy when she found them...lol

explain to your wife/girlfriend/mother/room mare/ whoever has a problem with the mealworms in the fridge that keeping them in there is what will help prevent them from becoming beetles

you have a good while. well up to a month. you just have to be SURE that they aren't warming up too much. the colder the better. just sit them in a cabinet
