i have liked the look and the idea of owning a stingray for quite a while........just a couple of questions
what is the smallest kind of stingray?
what average size tank should you keep them in?
and about how much do they cost?

im going to start researching and looking into them , just wanted to get to know a little bit about them........thanks for the help........... :D

You need to get "Freshwater Stingrays" by Dr. Richard Ross...its the bible for ray owners!

Tank size depends on the species.

Small species like histrix, scobina, reticulata (magdalenae) can be kept in tanks as small as a 180 for life.

Larger species like motoro, leoplodi, henlei, tiger, flower, etc., will need a tank with a footprint of at least 8' x 4' when they reach adulthood.

Smaller tanks (75, 90, 125, etc.) can easily used as pup rearing tanks for a decent amount of time.
