help with mysterious death

my friend from out of state found his gar dead. he thinks that when he fed his gar a feeder that was kinda too big so it got constipated. what do u think happened

but i dont think it was the feeder
mine used to gulp down way too big feeders(they were to age the tank)
Take him 30 minutes some times

its belly was still full when it was found dead. those that help. he has a rtc and arow with it. i think the gar couldnt swim after such a big meal and the rtc tried to swallow him but couldnt thats why he was found dead. he couldnt get away. do u think thats what happened. would pics of the gar help

It's belly being full says nothing. It's tankmates add a little but really nothing.
Are you actually interested in a cause or just want a topic of speculations?
Your not adding detail that says anything that anyone can diagnose or even try to do so.

What was the fishes previous conditions and behavior?
What are the water parameters?
What was the condition of the fish when found dead?

its previous conditon was fine he was fine but a little beat up on his tail
it was laying on the substrate and the fishs back was bent upwards.
it was fine last night till this morning.
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrates 5

Done..... you have your answer right there.....Fish broke it's back and drowned due to lack of oxygen or suffered massive nervous system damage and died from the trama..

This information earlier would have made this a very quick diagnosis.

It's back was bent upwards?
It probably broke it's spine. How big is the tank?
It may have rammed the sides of the tank because the tank was too small and broke it's back.
Polypterus would know much better than I do, but that's my guess.
