dat scratching

My two dats started doing the same thing 4 days ago. They wouldn't stop. All of the rest of the fish in the tank were fine. They just kept scratching and scratching. Then on the 2nd day, the thin bar got a film on him and the indo started gettiing red. I have them Q'd now. Rid-Ich, clean water and lots of salt. They are slowly improving. I'm not sure if it's a parasite or an infection.....I just know they're getting better. a lil
They're not eating though. That worries me. They always had such a good apatite.

My Dats does that once in a while. I usually put in a dose of Declor/Slim Coat and it helps.

Yeah, I tried a bunch of stress coat the first day. They just kept scratching.

scratching is common for dats. unless they are harming themselves, dont worry about it, its just a dat thing.

i just do a 25% water change and add salt.

Mine was doing it OCD like. Every 5-10 seconds ALL day.
They just kept cutting their bodies up. It's like I have emo dats or something.....

flashing and scratching (for most fish) is a sign of parasite or fungal infection. watch of fungus and whitespot, and treat accordingly if thats the case. otherwise, it should be fine
