i have a small IT that i got about 3 months ago mabey a little more. I am growing him out right now in a 37 gallon until he can go into my 150 and eventually the 265 but the problem is and i know dats are slow growers but i have not seen any growth at all from him. He is on a diet of feeders, thawed shrimp, FD krill and silver sides but i just wanted to know what kind of growth i can expect from this diet and how long it will take him to reach 6"-7"?

Also, how long do you think it would take him to reach 10"+? (in the 150 at that time)

it'll take a while. mine put on maybe 2" in a year eating FD krill/shrimp, pellets, and bloodworms. they are notoriously slow growers

I got eight 1.5" baby IT's in October 2007. I kept three that converted to pellets, one died and sold four of them that would only eat shrimp. Ok so in a year and three months, they grew from 1.5" to 9", 8.5" and one is only 7.5". I measured them with a ruler while moving them to a different tank last week.

This should give you an idea.

wow thats nice growth, i gotta start power feeding mine more..
I don't power feed any of my fish. They only eat twice a day, NLS in the morning and Massivore Delight at night.

If it's any consolation, I sold the four that I couldn't convert to pellets and they were growing slower than the pellet eating ones. One died because I accidently starved him to death trying to convert him. I always heard that a fish won't starve itself to death but I guess Dats will.
