gar pattern and color varies with both environment and genetics. these are just washed out from the conditions they are kept in...looks like a lot of light and not much dark substrate or cover. first impression is that these fish are perfectly fine--

i think their not as bad as discus.. and they are more of a bottom dweller..

like to just chill on the bottom.... but def good water like Arowana..

Those gars look fine to me. they just need to adjust to their surroundings and feel comfortable so that their color would become darker. My gar was also very pale before but now that i have him in a darker tank, his spot are becoming darker. and i think he likes his new tank too.
