i have a question. do you guys feed your dats shrimp with the shell? i am currently feeding them market shrimp peeled.

Nope. I take the shell off the market shrimp I feed to my fish. The shell, esp. near the tail can be awfully sharp.

But thats just me.

Shell is fine, you just want to remove the spike at the bottom of the shrimp.

All my Dats eat the shell.

Same here,there has to be some nutrition in it for them.

yeah i take the shell off because the shell sometimes have a sharp edge and can injure their internal

The only thing that can do some damage is the spike on the back. If properly thawed nothing else should be able to injure the fish.

I have also heard that there are alot of things in the shell that help inhance the color of your fish. Not sure how true this is though.

When i feed mine with the shell on even my pbass they spit the shell out after the meat gets digested and i end up scooping it out of the water. Thats the only downfall to me with having the shell on.

I feed my dat with pre cock market shrimp with no peel..
