hi all, yesterday i intro a about 6-7 cm IT into my aro tank ...

my aro tank PH is maintained at 6.4 - 6.6, is that ph range suitable for the IT ?? because i heard from some fish shop uncle say that if datnoids feed at this PH range it will become dark and were unstable... is that true ??

Then, will need to put some salt in tank ??

Thanks first for any pro PPL for answer me question....

I'm no pro, but from my reading i've seen that datnoids like neutral to slightly alkaline water. But i wouldn't think that your pH would be low enough for it be harmed. Stability shouldn't be too effected by your pH, assuming all of the other factors are alright. That's just what i would assume.

Let's wait for some dat experts to chime in....

i have a datnoid in with a jardini and the pH is around 7ish. just keep it constant he'll do fine.
do you put salt in the tank? i put a tablespoon per 10gs and replace with WC's.

I currently have a 3.5" IT in an amazon biotope tank, pH steady at about 6.3-6.4, and he is very active, stable, and eating aggressively. So I would think you shouldn't have any problem with a 6.6 pH.
