eheim 2017 = eheim 2217?

hey folks- on craigslist in my town some dude has listed an eheim 2017 filter. he says its like 7 years old so and runs good. i tried to get some info on it using a search engine but just found out that some parts are kinda hard to come by. so that's why i am here.

is the eheim 2217 the same as the eheim 2017? i mean, do they use the same pump head, motor? i went to bigals.com and they have a few parts for the eheim 2217, saying like this is the o-ring for eheim 2217/2017.

so does that mean the eheim 2017 is the 2217?

its a tough queston since i believe this guys filter may be an older model version.

i just don't want to buy it and then find out out in a few months like the motor head needs to be replaced and i can't get the part for it.
