I don’t trust them anything yet. But I have heard that aquaclear 500s can use for long time.

I bought a used aquaclear 500 and used it for 4 more years without an issue.
Deep Blue Professional 300 Watt Heater, bought two 4 years ago and htey've worked flawlessly. Bought two more and received them yesterday. Installed one on my 135g tank and kept one as a spare. They have kept my tanks at a solid 75F. My one old one I can no longer read the temp I'm setting it at, but one full rotation goes from top to bottom, so half way puts it exactly at 76F.135g Oceanic Cichlid tank

After reading through these posts I'm glad to see others still using Supreme Aquamaster filters. I use one on my 55 gal. quarantine tank along with it's partner the supreme aquamaster 2 piston air pump. These two units have served me well now for almost 20 years and continue to keep on doing the job they were made for. Only parts I've ever replaced were the o-rings in the air pump. Glad to see that the newer stuff is also holding up well and hopefully will continue to do so ( my 2 magnum H.O.T 250's ---had them in constant service since they first came out,12-15 years ago?).
Everything I have is old .........LOL

The older guys will remember this. I still have an Aqualogy PowerPlus 600 HOB filter. It has 4 lift tubes and pumps 600GPH. I used to use it as a regular mechanical filter. Now, I use it to remove meds through carbon quickly. I've had it since 1981 and it still works great.
Also have a Dynaflo dual-piston air pump. When they started disappearing from pet shops, I bought up a couple dozen rebuild kits and belts. Still works like the day I bought it back in 1974.http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...ad.php?t=51703

wow after reading this, a few other things around the site, and looking a few things up, I kinda feel bad about my guy Popeye, but I will say this: About 3 years ago I upgraded his tank from a 55 gallon with HOB Emperor filter to a tank I bought on craigslist, listed as a 150 gallon tank. I believe now that one of two things is true... either the filter I have is inadequate for the tank size (it's a Fluval 405), or the tank is actually a 100 gallon tank. The tank is waiting for me to move it out of my ex's house so I can't measure it this moment, but I will do so now. At any rate, the Fluval 405 has worked remarkably well for the years I've had it, especially as it was used when I got it. Nothing has broken, it doesn't leak, it circulates water with a heavy biological load, and it's quiet.
I apologize for the portions of this post that could be construed as "off-topic."
