Hey, i'm setting up a 125g soon and was wondering what you guys thought on heating. I was thinking of getting two jager heaters a 200 and 250 watt? Would that be good? Any thoughts comments or opinions?

Thanks alot!

I'd get 2 of the 250 watt heater's so if one goes for any reason there will still be heat in the tank from the other.

Mr. reef is right. That is a good idea. One on each side of the tank next to filtration.

being that they are jager though they are really good heaters- and the 250w is rated 90+g and the 200 is rated 90g. Are you sure it's a better idea to go with two 250w instead of a 200 and 250? I already have one 250 - i don't know if I should get another 250 or 200???

you guys raised 2 interesting issues. please explain why one should keep the heaters verticle rather than horizontal and why place them near filtration?

I noticed through talking to lot's of manufacture's and personal experience heater's don't last as well laying on there side. most people place heater's near the filtration since heat will be pulled through it and distributed through out the tank. I just had a bad experience again where I had leaking volt's in the tank and experience it alot at work and in my fish room.
