do you have a picture, how do you know its a masheer? and not a hampala or any other barb? what species, masheer is comprised of over 15 species of fish from India to Malaysia.

Ive seen pics of large hampala barbs and masheers. I am certainly no expert on these, just trying to get the word out. its lower fins have red in them and they have the short "whiskers" on each side of thier mouth. Looks like pics of masheers I have seen.


now quit looking at my thread and tell us what this super rare fish is :)

i pulled up another pic of a hampala barb and that is all wrong, wrong shape, face etc

18" masheer is really rare in US ._. red fin ... to me , there is a pretty high chance that is it what Wes just said, hoevenii...
