yesterday i was calling around to all of my LFS, because thursday's they get there cichlid shipments, and this guy tells me he has a wild caught 3 1/2 inch Black Nangu Compressiceps. i almost hit the floor. this fish is extremly rare and for it to be wild caught was just iceing on the cake. after work i drove down there to check him out, the store was packed (weird, fish stores are never very busy) anyway the owner was not in but his wife was there, she showed me the fish but she didnt speak very good english, so i couldnt ask all of the proper questions. the fish is brilliant but i dont think its a Nangu, the head is not black enough. none the less a black compressiceps is pretty rare at least from my point of view. what i need to know is: is this a Nangu? Male or female? will his head become more black over time? was this fish stressed out being wild caught, is that why his head is not pure black? has anyone ever had this fish before? i can not find very much info about a black comp online, please help.
PS: sorry about the pic quality, i had just put him in the tank and i was very excited
