wow great looking tank!! I think I already posted this but the video made it look 10x better!!
If you are having problems with algae you try scraping it off the sides with a green scrubbie and reducing your light and or covering the windows I think you were talking about earlier in the thread.
how long do you have the lights on for?
I would suggest some siamese algae eaters or oto catfish, but I think they would get munched down pretty fast with those fish.13 ~ 6" RBP 3 ~ 5" cariba ~ 11" BDR ~ 6" S. manuelli ~ 3" S. brandtii 3 ~ 1" S. maculatus

just a question : How did you end up getting around the illegality of rays? I live in texas, where they are also illegal. Did you manage to acquire a permit?

My mag float pro has become a good friend, haha. I can't get to the algae thats grown on the back with it though. I think the screens will help.
I currently have moon lights that come on for about an hour in the morning, then from 3-9:30 my normal lights come on, followed by more moon lighting until around 11. I've been thinking about changing this cycle as well to less time, but am gonna see how it goes.
Also, if anyone cares...
Thursday AM - Nitrates = 40-50ppm (roughly)
Thursday PM - added 9 marimo balls to sump
Friday AM - Nitrates = 40-50ppm (roughly)
Friday PM - 50% water change - nitrates 30ppm (grrrr)
Saturday AM - Nitrates 25ppm (roughly)
so it looks like the marimo balls might be helping. I should also note that I have 5-10ppm of nitrates out of the tap.My 450g - Video1 Video2 2xPeru Mono, 1xGuyana Occell, 1xKelberi, 1xOrino, 4xIndo Dats, 2xMarble Motoro, 1xMidas, 1xRed Bay Snook, 1xNiger Cat, 1xSilver Aro, 1xBlood Parrot
