I've noticed some dat keepers who have beautiful and larger specimens feed a variety of things. But I've noticed a trend that those bigger healthy looking ones were fed meal worms as part of their meal. I've heard some conflicting opinions about them, what has been your experience?

Some say you gotta remove the head so they don't eat through your fish.

Others say they have no nutritional value or is it that they need to be gut loaded.

Still others say they're messy.

I'm thinking of feeding them to my two 2-3" NTT's, 3" AT and my 4.5" IT. I'd appreciate your input.

I know these guys are slow growers so I'm not necessarily interested growing them out super fast, I'm more interested in knowing whether mealworms are a good source of nutrition for them.

Thanks for your input.

They are commonly eaten by soldiers(if available) for survival food. I guess its that nutritious.

Worms are Mostly moisture....

Carnivore and massivore pellets have higher protein content, at least twice more. Better for dat growth.

I looked at grubco.com, and it listed several worm nutritionl values.

Ade does your dat eats Carnivore and massivore pellets?

i've tried to get my dat on the pellets for ages!
i manage to get my rays on them but the dat don't even take a smell at it.

i've tired starving, and soaking the pellets on with the shrimp's water but still no luck!

I resolve in feeding the pellets to my mealworms, before I feed the fish if thefish don't eat the pellets themselves.
I think this should add up in nutricion, but got no science to prove it.

How do you even soak pellets? They get puff up or melted into tiny fragments!
