Chinese Paddlefish.... Is it really doomed?

The last Chinese Paddle Fish found was in 2007.
Our only hope is to find an egg of a female paddlefish.
It is 100% sure to be extinct in the wild but if successfully cloned I think the survival of this species is guaranteed.

So what do you think is the Paddlefish doomed??

Nature is not taking it's course. This species is not going extinct due to natural circumstances, humans have disrupted it ability to thrive!

well considering this happened due to humans that's already out the question, isn't it? dams/deforestation(affects run off) over fishing, release on non-natives, etc
