eheim 2017

i just bought a 125gal tank, it came with a eheim 2017 filter, found out that they quit making these in the 80s, surprisingly the filter still works fine, but this filter has a 2 piece impeller shaft, anyone know why these filters have a 2 piece impeller shaft? also dose anyone know if i can use a solid shaft to replace the 2 piece shaft? i know that the eheim 2217 is basically the same filter, i guess the replacement for the 2017, i have read that the impeller from the 2217 dosnt fit the 2017 but i wonder if the shaft will work? any help would be great. thanks

Do a search for 2017. There have been a few comments but no satisfactory replacements for this filter.

its cool yeah ive searched around a bit but havent found anything about it much. anyone else know much about this filter?

um eheim 2017s are still sold im pretty sure
they are in australia
classic ranged rated for a 600L and at 1000Lph

you sure its the 2017 and not the 2217 that your thinking of because eheim hasnt made the 2017 sense the 80s, the 2217 replaced it. but i have read that the impeller from the 2217 wont fit the 2017 even though the filters are the same size, but im not sure if the impeller shaft will work, i just really want to know why the impeller shaft in the 2017 is a 2 piece shaft. and if any other one piece shaft will work in the 2017.
