any one know how this works, Microbe-Lift Ammonia Remover by Ecological Labs?

It is dissapointing this question still waiting an answer,

I'm having ammonia spikes in a new tank and Microbe-lift ammonia remover is the only option I was able to get where I live, I just used it and fish are already doing much better but my concern is the effect on the nitrogen cycle, although the manufacturer claims it does not.

also I'm curious on how often should I use it as it also dechlorinates tab water so can I add proportional amount for water changes?

Jesus! 249 views and one reply?!?! Even I don't get it this bad.

I have heard of that company but not that particular product and I don't know of any additive that will completely remove toxic ammonia.This stuff probably changes the ammonia into another substance or form.

Whoops...I just noticed that this post is over five years old and not too many people on here have probably tried the stuff so that may explain the lack of replies.
