Just came back from a resort in DR and they had several LARGE ponds connected throughout the property.
The ponds were all cement, about 18-20" deep
The photos arnt that great but I will try my best to describe the body type, coloration, size etc...

Some look like koi but have the body of a S.A. cichlid with coloration similar to african cichlids

Pic1: length= around 16", Body type similar to green terror (odd mouth)

Pic2: same type of fish with misc. fish similar to severums, and what looked like juvi green terrors

Pic3:Definitely looked like a green terror (many more like this) some were 8-10"

Pic4:TOO much glare, tryed to capture a photo of what looked like a GT but had dark coloration with orange around the fins and white spots on the throat and behind the gills

Pic5-7: random pics of some ponds (Huge driftwood)

Not clear, but I would go with either pink tilapia or giant gourami.

+1, that's also what instantly came into my mind. what i can clearly see though are turtles. lol.
