I recently added an oscar into my tank. He is about 2 inches long at the moment.

He seems to spend a lot of his time laying on the bottom of the tank, or in a corner behind bogwood. Then every so often he swims around the tank for a while before going back to his corner.

He is eating and looks to be healthy. So, is this normal behaviour for an oscar, or is something up? He has been in the tank around 24hrs now.

normal. He'll come around. Just dont overfeed trying to get him to come out.

Feed, scoop out uneaten food. repeat.

He'll be a crazy tail wagging freak in no time

Ah, thanks all - that is great to know!

I just turned the lights on the tank, and he is happily swimming around at the moment. :)
