Gar name?

I am trying to find info on a gar I saw at my lfs today.
It was just labelled "Gar $29.99"
When I asked about it the guy said he couldn't remember exactly but he said something that ir was something like horse face or horse head gar.
I can't find any info on these does anyone know what the scientific name would be?

prob not a gar but without pics it will be nearly impossible to tell

I will do my best to describe it.
Its body was and fins were like a gar but its mouth wasn't like the usual shape...the head slowly tapered down like the mouth was not as defined as the typical gar.
Its colours were dark and light browns, they ran horizontally all down the body from tooth to tail.

If anything I would say the crocodile fish.
The colours are spot on, but the face was more a bit downturned could have just been a deformity.
