Hi all,

Once i received my new gar, i saw some very very thin red stripes on his tail, but i thought it was nothing...now two months later, i wake up, i see my senegal with very noticeable red stripes (blood spots) on his fins.

On doing some very quick research (unfortunately at work for now), i noticed that it is quite contagious. I am assuming the gar might have given to him?

The water quality is perfect, zeroes across the board...

What are possible solutions to fix this?

Salt and bump up temp?

if you can get pics that would help. the blood vessels in a gar's fins will often show, especially in the caudal fin...generally nothing to be worried about as this frequently occurs. pics would help rule out a real problem though--

PS-- my guess is that if the fish is in good shape (fins look decent other than the red) and water quality is good, you should be ok.
