Should I get a 180?

Current stock:
13" Oscar
9" Tinfoil Barb
10" Female Snook (full of eggs- that's how i know its female)
5" Green Flyer Cichlid
10" Jack Dempsey
TWO - Green Severums 6" each.

Currently in a 125.
Filtration:
TWO - Fluval 404's
ONE - Fluval 304
ONE - UV Sterilizer


The stand i have can accomodate a 180. It is the correct dimension for one.
It is custome built and could hold an M1 Abram.

But here's the thing. I dont want to. Ugh. I just dont feel like buying a 180 and selling the 125 and switching everything over.


So please just give me your honest opinions. Do I need to or not?

Considering Bio-load, current filtration and eventual adult size of all inhabitants.

That barb really needs to be in a school so a bigger tank would accommodate that. But if was you and had the room id go even bigger but that's just me

i put yes mainly because the extra volume can only be a good thing and it frees up the 125 if you have space to set it up too.
plus the 180 will allow for a couple of more tinfoils. which, again, can only be a good thing.

I agree, I'd go with at least 220g tank.

the barb seems pretty happy by himself. i used to have 3. I took 2 out and he seems pretty relaxed.

I personally think those fish are "OKAY" in the 125 gallon for life. Your filtration is adequate, and I've seen worse too....so I say no.

I chose yes just because Everyone wants a bigger tank .... I am not saying go out aned buy a brand new multi thousand dollar tank, log onto craigslist and check it out I just got I am picking it up tommorow after noon a 300 gallon tank with everything including a stand for 500, and its nice its 3/4 inch acrylic and even has some fish with it... I am just saying that upgrading when your are thrifty does not mean you have to spend a fortune lol =)

so do you all think this stock would be good for life in a 180 then?

I dont want to go bigger than 180 cause that requires a new stand etc.

I would buy the 180, switch everything over, then sell the 125 .
