He looks a little skinnny, other then that he looks great. What are you feeding him? I am not a fan of your substrate. I would have more of a fine sand for the ray.
I will get a picture when he is on its side, i have no way of telling, I didn't notice anything out of the blue when I looked. Think its a female. But not 100% sure. anything out there to help identifiey?
A male will have a pair of claspers under the tail (not the fins, actual tubelike claspers). A female will not have these. They should be pretty easy for you to see.

There some picture online? I just feed it some krill and it devored it down. Guy said it the LFS that it would take him a couple days before it ate. not even 24 hours later he is eating like a champ.
