Hey everyone I've been looking at datnoids for awhile now and pondering whether or not to get one. I have a 120 gallon right now that has a 6.5" tiger oscar and four bichirs all around 5" at the moment living in it. The tank is 4x2x2 so would that be big enough for like 2 indo dats? Or would my oscar end up beating them up? He's a pretty nice fish, leaves the bichirs alone and such. I would grow them out first of course but was just wondering if they would outgrow a 120 or if its jsut a bad idea...thanks in advance guys!

I wouldnt put it past the oscar to eat anything that runs from him and will fit in his mouth. My oscars would get anything. I tried to put new fish in the tank and when i had the bag warming to my tank water he would come up and nip the bag.

I wouldn't risk it. Your other fish will grow miuch faster. I would just have a separate tank for the indos and maybe you could add some other slow growing fish to your indo growout tank like clown loaches.
