maybe try adding decoration (wood/plants) that offer a bit of overhanging cover? i try to elevate pieces of wood with rocks so that there is space between the wood and the ground. this allows them to hang out underneath the wood but you can also see them because they cant hide completely. it helps my dats stay stable alot of the time.

I found that leaving the lights off for the day and night leaves the datnoids very stable when you turn them on. It just so happened that i had a power outage and they had no light for two days and when the electricity was back, they were stable as hell and still are.
