Need help, my motoro ray developed a black ring on his top side yesterday. Today that ring has filled in all black. Whats going on, it doesnt look healthy.

Ok, the black is now peeling up exposing some tissue. Did an extra water change for the week just now, and everything was and still is at solid 0s. I know stingrays are sensitive animals, but do I have to worry about this becoming fatal? He is still acting active to a degree and is eating. Should I be adding aquarium salt or any chemicals to help coat and protect it?
