I recently got hit with a horrible disease and had to treat this tank with meds so strong they killed off all of my benificial bacteria. I cannot risk spread of disease so adding cycled media from one of my other tanks is not an option. On a positive note, that means this is the perfect time to really put a product to the test and post the results over the next seven days... The results are going to be pure Stability WIN or FAIL. Did a 50% WC today so there is a little nitrate left in the system.

Tank: 125 gallon ~ x15 juvinile SA cichlids (2"-4") ~ FX5, two Hydor V sponge filters.

Todays results (Sun 04/18):
  • Ammonia: 0.25 PPM
  • Nitirite: 0 PPM
  • Nitrate: 10 PPM (tank was previously cycled)
  • Added 65mg of Stability (13 "cap fulls" measured with a vet syringe).

If this works like I say it does, I'll use it on the new 300g I got today too. ;) I should also add that I washed out the FX5 today in hot tap water so if there was any BB left, I promise it didn't survive. That filter was dirty! lol

That ammonia looks yellow to me, 0. But I guess that is what I see.
It's not I can assure you. As I said I did a 50% WC right before these readings. If you check the disease section you will see what I treated with. Trust me no BB survived... My pics are high rez too, you can click to zoom in big.

Why would you do a water change and then test ?

Because I tested an had ammonia in the tank hench the big WC to start things off. What's the point of posting results if I am going to tweak with a WC shortly there after? I did the change and I am not planning on doing a WC unless of emergency.

Tonights results in a few minutes. ;)

Todays results (Mon 04/19) Day Two:
  • Ammonia: 0.25 PPM
  • Nitirite: 0 PPM
  • Nitrate: 10-15 PPM (looks to me to be more than last night, what do you guys think?)
I am using the syringe to shoot the stability directly into the inlet of my FX5. Seed it first.

Your recommendation to another member is what prompted me to try this stuff the first time, I know it works (although I never did catch a nitrite spike) but could not find a day by day/pic thread so I thought why not share one with the group.

I got a vested interest in hurring up and finishing the cycle on this tank so I can start the next one. Pic of the new three-hundy I got yesterday just for you Ben.... ;) (24" level in the pic)
