like stated above, it depends on what you keep in the tanks, i dont have to even do w/c's on my fowlr tank just do top offs, grow enough plant life to absorb the nitrates and your golden as long as you dont have things that need trace elements, but that can be fixed with a dosing set up. imo salt is easier for fowlr, corrals is another story

Salt only for corals, as they like the water neat :p but set up right can theoreticaly be as low maintinance as FOWLR.

i agree on the FOWLR. lower maintenance than my fw tank because i only need to do top-offs...

If you have your filtration setup properly, even corals can be easy. If you want to do Acros or something else demanding in calcium and other minerals, it can quickly become the suck.

Im a shroom and zoanthid person, so not really all that difficult, even though they will suck up strontium and magnesium....still arent as bad as acros.
