After diving headfirst into the world of aquaria with a Polypterus tank (which has been a great success), I have now decided to take a smaller scale approach into the saltwater world. Here's what I have so far.

I bought the 29g Biocube retail, and have made no modifications to it. Got a heater and digital thermometer to go in it.

I got 15 lbs of live rock and used R/O Saltwater from my LFS. Bottom is plain aragonite, not live sand.

Also I know most people don't like live cycling, but I bought two blue damsels to get my tank going and if you just come in here to flame me I'll have you know I'm only going to skip over your post.

I have the API master test kit and such, and know the next thing I need to nab is a protein skimmer. I really don't plan on keeping corals as of now, but who knows in the future.

Anyways, after a long foreword, my question is this: Am I missing anything necessary for my tank at this point in time other than the skimmer? I don't think I missed anything but who knows.

Thanks guys.
