45 gallon in the kitchen. 5 fancy goldfish (1) pleco - ebay sun sun - no heater.
125 gallon 5 foot wide perfecto in the basement (3) clowns (7) red / blue columbian tetras (4) rhasboras (7) lemon tetra (3) neon tetra's (7) serpae tetras (1) 14" pleco (2) red tail sharks - dual ebay sun suns - dual new style jager 150 watt.

Dear David,
If part of the glass tube is not fully submersed, the unit could be reading room temperature and overheat. We believe that the depicted setup doesn’t represent a problem, however you must ensure that the heater glass tube will not be in contact with the pvc pipe, otherwise the unit will eventually metl the plastic and cause a leak.

I run hydor inline heaters. 2 300watt on my 150breeder. Love em.
I once made a pvc cover for a heater and when I went to clean it oneday noticed water had somehow gotten into it and it was blown out and all kinds of colors inside. I wouldn't personally risk putting a heater in a tube again. That's just me tho....

I have a 300w hydor on my tank, cut the return hose from the cannister and install it there. no leaks, good temperature control and no unsightly heater in my tank
