five years ago when i was just starting marines, saw one the size of a football at a now defunct wholesaler. AMAZING colours, and colour-changing ability. i swear it looked right at me, then went from greenish to the exact colour of the sand it was on.
if you can keep a reef tank, you could probably handle a cuttle.

yup, i have seen them kept lots, i saw one in a 55 reef tank, all that was in the tank was a few clownfish, a cuttlefish, and tons of coral and anenomes. it was awesome. the guy said he fed it shrimp. also it was kept with a big fat frogfish, the frogfish ruled half the tank and the cuttlefish had the other half

crap. why do they only live a year or so 
i would def keep one if it lasted longer.
