I've decided to build an 800 gallon aquarium using a design i've seen on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7nKf_kE4YI

I've completed the frame and waterproofing stages of the tank. I'd like some helpful ideas or tips on the type and size of glass to use for the tank. I've decided to use 3/4th inch glass instead of lexan or acrylic.

I'd also like some "out of the box" ideas on 3 stage filtration. I'd like to have the sump under the aquarium. The aquarium will sit on a cinderblock & Plywood stand. Here are the photos of the frame before and after waterproofing...I'll have some more photos of the tank once I put the glass on and test its ability to hold water...

The tank is going to sit in the storage room wall which is behind the tank in the photos. I'm going to cut a hole into that wall and eventually close the car port in and create a man cave!!!!!!

Well my suggestion would be to ask the man who built the oringal on (greenterra)is a member on this site and no one could tell you better than him, looks good so far,but how are you going to get the glass inside your openings in the top look to small. check out greenterra's threads on his build it will be well worth your while.

Let's see...
Plywood $250
Fiberglass Resin - $200
Misc Tools & Fiberglass - $250
Misc items $100
So so far i'm under my budget....but i still have glass to buy which is going to be about $670
oh and I paid the guy who helped me build the tank $200

The glass is shorter than the glass is long/tall so I should be able to bring it into the front of the tank and tilt it in order to stand it up...i've tested that with a large piece of cardboard lol.

check your openings in the top to make sure you can fit the glass, before you seal it all up,the glass has to be able to slide in the top to fit properly.btw nice job on the fiberglass
