this widebar hit the glass top several weeks ago, it mouth been open since. it's a drop jaw like arowana drop eye? will it heal?
should i buy it in this condition?

Go and see if it eats in this condition. Either way it is flawed so ask a lower price. If he is stubborn show him this thread so that he can see it's not just you that thinks this.

The seller should train it to close its mouth by feeding it goldfish. The goldfish will try to escape from its mouth so the Dat will be forced to close it.
